May, 1971
ROTARY PARK
The Rotary Park built by our club was handed over to BMC for maintenance.  Since then it has been taken over by Kamla Raheja Trust and is run by them.

March 1972
THE POPATLAL PRABHUDAS CHARITABLE MEDICAL CLINIC
Started in March, 1972, it is today full-fledged polyclinic catering to over 10000 patients every year. Its activities cover several medical specialties and provide treatment to needy patients at a very nominal charge. Medical Centre has OPD, Physiotherapy, Skin Clinic, Homoeopathy, Ophthalmic, Dental and Pathological Laboratory. TB Patients are given free treatment. Medical Centre also has counseling centre for AIDS. All services are provided at very nominal charges to needy patients.

ROTARY BOMBAY WEST INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF &
KAMLA DHARAMSEY NARSEE SHRUTI SCHOOL FOR HEARING IMPAIRED
Started in June 1973 with 9 children, the project has grown to be one of the finest Schools for the hearing impaired. Today it has over 100 children learning in four different languages. Annual budget is about Rs.35 lacs. The present building was inaugurated in 1982. Involvement of our Rotarians in day-to-day functioning of the school is perhaps the reason for its success. The School building is now named as ‘Surajba Bhavan’. The Institute now also has the latest
'Cochlear Implant & Infant training Centre'. The institute also has an advanced Audiology center equipped with soundproof room and latest Audiology equipments for students and members of the community.

1992
CHAIR IN MANAGEMENT FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION AT NMIMS
Chair provided opportunity to students doing research in running of non-profit organization. It has helped in improving management in 18 very poor schools in Bombay and Gujarat.  All activities are co-ordinated through the Chair Professor Dr N K Kondap. Starting from a 12-week course, we now conduct 24-week management development workshops for NGOs to help acquaint them with modern management concepts that can be applied in efficient functioning of NGOs.  In the foreseeable future we hope to upgrade to the first Degree course in the country on the Management for VSO’s.

SHRI MAHAVIR PRASAD RUIA VOCATIONAL LOAN SCHOLARSHIPS
This project is started with donations from our Rotarians. This loan scholarship is provided to deserving students wishing to pursue higher studies but do not have financial resources to continue Response to this is overwhelming with many success stories. More than Rs 2.5 million has been disbursed to 250+ students with a very good recovery record.  This helps us to reach out to many more needy students.

FUNCTIONAL LITERACY AND NON-FORMAL EDUCATION
This is a unique project on Functional Literacy.  Evening Study Classes & non Formal Education started at Municipal School adopted by our club provided much needed opportunity for poor students to learn and study.  Also in the same school adult education classes are conducted for women on health and family planning education.  The club provides entire project expenses.

SHEILA RAHEJA HALL & KALAVATI CHABRIA HALL
A fully air-conditioned Community hall on the second floor of our Centre has a seating capacity of 250, and a hall on the ground floor has a capacity of 150. These halls are being used by various Rotary Clubs as well as other organizations and members of the Community.

COMPUTER TRAINING CLASSES FOR HANDICAPPED
This was started in November 1996 with the help of a donation through Inner Wheel Club.  These Classes are run at our Shruti School and found to be very useful for Handicapped.  All computers are upgraded periodically.

February 2001
ABA Project jointly with Lilavati Hospital inaugurated.  A unique project to help early detection of Asthma, Bronchitis and Allergy disorders in young children.  So far more than 50000 children have been tested at various schools and communities.

The Road junction opposite Rotary Service Centre named as ‘Rotary Chowk’.

ROTARY BRAILLER BANK
Inaugurated by RI Pres Richard King and Chairman of Trustees, TRF Luis Vicente Giay, loans out Braillers to the Visually challenged students through the all India branches of the NAB till they can afford to buy their own units.

COCHLEAR IMPLANT & INFANT TRAINING CENTER
At the Rotary Bombay West Institute for Deaf helps train infants with low hearing and alos train hearing impaired persons after undergoing Cochlear Implants.

Rotary School Excellence Scholarships started.

ROTARY D G GOENKA BLOOD BANK
One of the most innovative golden jubilee projects is a feather in Bombay West’s cap. A state-of-the-art facility located at BSES MG Hospital managed by Brahmakumaris offers the latest in Blood Component Therapy. The components available at the Blood Bank are Packed red cells, Fresh frozen plasma, Platelets, Cryoprecipitate and Cryodepleted plasma, along with whole Blood. Funded by Rotary Club of Bombay West, Roatry District 7120 and the Rotary Foundation, the equipment has been sourced globally and is licensed by State Food and Drug Administration.
