Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Cardinal Aims of Rotary Club of Bombay West

  1. To steer the Club towards new and unexplored dimensions of service and to strive for highest standards of excellence.
  2. To evolve and execute projects which are essentially built around:

a.      Strengths and potential of the Club as manifested through its members, and its infrastructure.

b.     Emerging needs of the community in the midst of a fast changing milieu.

Principal Objectives

  1. To up-grade and develop the facilities at the Rotary Service Centre so as to make it a powerful focal point of Rotary Service to the community.
  2. To achieve an optimum “project-member-match” at the Club level to ensure:
    1. Maximum utilization of available professional expertise and service experience.
    2. Maximum member participation based on the principle of Synergy.
  3. To make effective contribution at the District level in the areas of
    1. Health
    2. Environmental Protection
    3. Youth Service
    4. Rotary Growth
  4. To initiate and establish new, significant, community based projects of enduring nature.
The Board of Directors sincerely hopes to devote its time and talents to serve the community through the fulfillment of the above aims and objectives.
