PRESIDENT SPEAKS

Dear Members,

“VIPASSANA” – PATH TO “PEACE & SELF-KNOWLEDGE”

“VIPASSANA” is a Universal & Scientific method formulated to purify the MIND - through SELF-OBSERVATION. Observing the Reality of ONESELF rather than external factors is necessary because we experience HAPPINESS or SADNESS within us.

Vipassana is the essence of BUDDHA’S Teachings – it was his insight that “it was difficult to objectively observe our own MIND” (the centre of feelings) in an abstract manner. He discovered that any change in the MIND – manifested itself on the body in form of SENSATIONS and in altered Breathing. He also observed that there were numerous stimuli that sprouted in the Mind and through it the Body. To each of which the Mind reacted classifying them as Pleasant or Unpleasant.

The Mind sought more of the Pleasant and averted the Unpleasant stimuli in the same Chain of reaction – happening at great speed. Hence Reality appeared to be different from the actual; forming a Habit.

Through Vipassana – “the process of Self Observation” – One can break this compulsive Habit pattern. It will be discovered that every stimulus arises only to pass away and hence if one does not react to it – the same stimulus would go out of the Chain reaction.
Buddha taught that VIPASSANA was the Universal way of Developing the “SAKSHI BHAV” or the ‘WITNESS ATTITUDE” as the path for ultimately achieving the state of “NIRVANA” or ‘SALVATION”.

Needless to say, practitioner of Vipassana will experience changes in Health & Temperament gaining greater Confidence Stillness & Peace.
