| AIDS Anonymous AIDS Detection & Counseling Centre was started in April 1996 in collaboration with ARCON (AIDS Research & Control Centre - collaborative programme of Government of Maharashtra & The University of Texas, Houston, United States). |
| Since then : |

600 patients have visited the AIDS detection centres and have received detection and counseling services. |

A Mass AIDS Awareness Project was carried out in 1997 for the truck drivers and cleaners at city's entry points where they were given group briefing and one-to-one counseling for those who needed. In 2 days over 2000 individuals were effectively covered. |
